  1. “User-pays” might sound attractive to politicians, but if they seriously think that yet another cut to University funding (and that’s what this is) won’t be passed on to students somehow, they’re dreaming. Governments cut the fat out of the tertiary education system a long time ago and are chopping away at muscle and bone – how do they expect the sector to absorb yet another funding cut?
