The Australian Universities Accord consultation process called for big ideas into its submissions. It invited diverse thinking from within the sector in Australia and globally. It also invited radical thinking and ideas from other sectors.

This so-called radical model of education is more of the same neoliberal rubbish that has totally degraded public education over the past 30 years. The problems that it is seeking to solve are ones that its type of thinking created. Our public education sector needs to be largely autonomous of the commercial world and not fully integrated with it. It needs to nurture a non-corrupted critical perspective on all areas of a culture. This requires higher levels of public investment and more academic autonomy. The Australian Government has the resources and can raise more revenue. it comes down to ideologically driven priorities.
