Education invisible in NZ election

New Zealand is in the grips of a general election that is anything but gripping. It is a case of general election interruptis as it all had to go on hold while we dealt with the Rugby World Cup. Some say that the timing of the election (announced months ago) was a cynical manoeuvre to ensure a victory for the ruling centrist right National Party. The All Blacks only just squeaked through the final to win the world cup but I do not think that we can expect a close finish to this election which sees the government three weeks out looking comfortable. Unlike the Melbourne Cup this year, this is a one- horse race.
