UWA appoints chair in paediatric anaesthesiology

An internationally recognised anaesthetist has been appointed the inaugural Woolworths chair in Paediatric Anaesthesiology at The University of Western Australia. Professor Britta Regli-von Ungern-Sternberg works in the UWA School of Medicine and Pharmacology and as a paediatric anaesthetist at Princess Margaret Hospital. A member of the division of clinical sciences at the Telethon Institute for Child Health Research, her current research focuses on the prediction and prevention of respiratory complications in children, one of the main causes of life-threatening illness and death in paediatric anaesthesia.
