Yücel honoured by learned academy

Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia has presented Dr Murat Yücel, with the inaugural Paul Bourke Award for Early Career Research. Yücel’s in neuropsychology looks into adolescent brain development and the links between adolescent drug addiction and later mental health problems. Yücel is a senior lecturer in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Melbourne, and head of neuroimaging and cognitive neuroscience research in drug addiction at Orygen Research Centre. The award is named for the late Professor Paul Francis Bourke, a former president of ASSA, and inaugural president of the National Academies Forum.
