Deakin appoints of director teaching and learning institute

Dr Colin Mason has been appointed as director of the Institute of Teaching and Learning at Deakin University. Mason is currently dean, teaching and learning at Unitec New Zealand, where he also led the Centre for Teaching and Learning Innovation. Prior to this appointment, Mason was director of learning and teaching development at the University of St Andrews, Scotland. His original discipline is biomedical sciences and he held a senior lectureship in this area at Bradford University. He is expected to take up his position on 5 January.
