At present there is no protection to stop administrations loading up academics with extra administration and teaching, and focusing reward and promotion almost solely on research achievement, isrrespective of workhours required.

Thanks for reading and writing in. Yes, we have forwarded the piece to the NTEU and the plan is to publish its response on Monday. We aim to give both sides of a debate a chance to make their cases, in an intellectual and voluminous capacity.
