  1. In all this rhetorical debate the focus is on school leavers or young people (under 30ish)
This has become a smoke screen for three other matters
1 mature age students. In the age of continuous or life time learning what is going to happen to the debt levels of older people who need to either upgrade their qualification or find that their expertise is now redundant and have to choose a new career pathway. These will probably be middle aged parents with high expenses of household costs plus a mortgage.
2 Universality accounts for only 40% of those who hold a post school qualification TAFE & private RTOs the balance. The Government’s policies will flow onto them and they will not ever earn the big money that the minister states so confidently after getting a degree, the impact on the 6 lower qualifications are being ignored.
3 I wonder about those who never complete a Degree yet they have a hex debt what is payback for them?
