IT’s dreadful environmental toll

When the Australian Computer Society commissioned a survey of the carbon footprint of Australia’s IT users it found that about 1.5 per cent of all emissions could be traced back to computer use. It’s a figure comparable to the civil aviation sector’s carbon footprint.
