Country unis innovate, too: Duncan
Regional universities have a huge role to play in the federal government’s innovation agenda, the vice-chancellor of the University of New England has said.

The other problem with only supporting Go8 research students is that talented students in the regions often can’t attend those universities, particularly mature age students. I know social justice seems to be considered passe these days, so I won’t use that argument, but the Federal government should consider the implications of failing to invest in as many as possible of our best and brightest potential researchers – particularly when innovation is so important for reviving flagging regional economies.
