Opinion: The VET-FEE HELP buck stops with us

As the dust settles on the government’s proposed changes to Australia’s vocational loan scheme, VET-FEE HELP, we should be reminded of the need for proper consultation prior to broad reforms.

It is worthy to repeat….. educationists were not consulted in the set up of the VET System. And neither have they be consulted to reform the VET System. VET is not a business. What is called a ‘disaster’ by some is seen as a diabolical failure to protect innocent lives due to endemic cover-ups and corruption – widespread but hidden. I am glad this article is clearly labelled as an opinion piece as the likeness to greyhound racing (with its background as the ‘working man’s’ horse race – and one due for abolition for good cause) is galling.
