VC Hill calls for unfreezing of sub-degree places

In his first push for policy change as incoming chair of the Regional Universities Network, professor Greg Hill has called for sub-degree loans to be included in the demand-driven system.

The one-semester University certificate was a useful offering. It allowed mature age students to test their abilities without too much stress and if they succeeded, it could be credited towards a degree program. If they passed but decided further study wasn’t for them, at least they exited with a qualification. We gained some good mature age students for degree programs from it.
