Opinion: No education without aspiration

I originally come from Uganda and I was fortunate to have highly educated parents so there was no doubt that I would one day become an academic like them (I did resist but it was inevitable). But so many young people in both developed and developing countries do not have similar opportunities. If a child does not aspire to anything, they will not achieve anything. I took my son to ADFA in Canberra for the same reason: to see that for which he is striving.
If one doesn’t have a goal they will aim at anything…and nothing.
