Sounding off on reform – again

Calls to scrap the Coalition’s higher education reforms and start afresh have been met with warnings that to do so would jeopardise Australia’s leading global position in higher education in submissions to the latest Senate inquiry into the government’s proposed legislation.

Hmmm the University sector seems to have a lot more to say than the VET sector. I particularly like ACU’s position on NUHEPs – ‘so long as they don’t get any more money, we don’t mind where the money goes’. And why assume that Unis have higher operating costs – their clientele is meant to be more self sufficient: how does this make them more expensive to serve?
