Disputed VC pay report sparks NTEU transparency call

The NTEU has called for greater transparency in university financial reporting after it was forced to issue a correction of its own analysis of data purporting to reveal the value of Australian VC remuneration packages.

  1. “Meanwhile, the University of Western Australia, whose VC professor Paul Johnson rounded out the top six with a package the report calculated to be worth $1,015,000, has also questioned the accuracy of the NTEU figures. A UWA spokesman said the NTEU’s analysis appeared to overstate the value of Johnson’s remuneration package by about $140,000.”

    Well, Paul Johnson could have just come out and said, “I get $875,000” (or whatever). Its pretty easy really.
