What McCallum found underneath the ice

Our picture shows University of the Sunshine Coast academic Dr Adrian McCallum, who has just returned home after completing a three-month scoping study into alternative road options in Antarctica. McCallum was deployed by the federal government’s Antarctic research arm to assess the viability of an existing manufactured gravel road from Casey Station to a nearby wharf.
