Nursing college appoints new CEO

Adjunct Professor Debra Thoms FRCNA FCN has been appointed the inaugural chief executive officer of the Australian College of Nursing (ACN). Thoms is a registered nurse and midwife with wide experience across the health system. She has held positions in the Northern Territory, South Australia and New South Wales including executive director Royal Women’s Hospital Sydney, chief executive officer, Macquarie Area Health Service, and area director nursing and community development, south eastern Sydney area health service, NSW. Thoms has well established international relationships through her chief nursing and midwifery officer roles and academic networks.
