Universities have lot to learn about procurement: survey

Universities exert tremendous clout buying goods and services, including a reported $200 million a year spent on travel alone sector-wide. But while there are optimistic signs that some universities have recognised the significance of procurement, or the purchasing function, there is still some way to go, according to a Higher Ed Services (HES) benchmarking survey.
