The problem appears to be that
1. Prospective students believe they will do better by getting a university degree, and
2. Private providers are cheaper than public providers.
Is it perhaps not true that students will do better with a university degree than with a TAFE qualification? If so, why?
If private providers are cheaper than public providers, then the system is seriously skewed. This ought to be investigated.
