Fulbright Commission appoints new ED

The Australian-American Fulbright Commission Board last week announced the appointment of Dr Joe Hlubucek as the new executive director for the Australian-American Fulbright Commission. Hlubucek was posted to the Australian Consulate-General in San Francisco in 1995-98 and to the Australian Embassy in Washington DC from 1985-89 and again in 2004-06. He also has teaching and research experience at the ANU and the University of Western Sydney. He was the general manager of Biotechnology Australia and elected a fellow of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute for his research contributions. Hlubucek is currently a research fellow with the Australian Academy of Science. He will take up the position on 8 December.
