50 new medical school places to boost GP pipeline

Eight universities will share the new Commonwealth-supported medical places as part of a broader push to strengthen the primary care workforce.

The federal government will fund 50 additional medical school places from 2028 as part of a $30 million investment designed to boost the GP workforce and strengthen access to primary care across Australia.
