Are Australians really overeducated? It depends what education is for
The latest HILDA data highlights a growing mismatch between qualifications and jobs, but experts say education serves purposes beyond preparing people for a single occupation.
The federal government is aiming for 80 per cent of Australian adults to have a vocational or university qualification by 2050, up from the current rate of 60 per cent.
