Honorary doctorate for leading scientist

A world leader in the field of environmental sciences and technology was awarded an honorary doctorate at the University of the Sunshine Coast last week. Professor Ian Lowe, was presented with the honorary award at USC’s Graduation Ceremony on Wednesday 4 April. He moved to the Sunshine Coast in 2004 and is an adjunct professor at USC. He was awarded Officer of the Order of Australia in 2001, a Centenary Medal in 2002, and the Promotion of Science Eureka Prize in 2002. He is currently the Australian Conservation Foundation president, a member of the Environmental Health Council, and a member of the Radiation Health and Safety Advisory Council.
