Community languages institute gets green light

The University of Sydney is set to embark on its newest project - a research institute for community languages education - after it was granted $7.6 million in funding from the NSW Government.

The aspirational incentives of learning languages is not only empowering, but also fun! Plus it connects you closer to the cultural and historical aspects, and ‘the people’, from where that language originates.
But I wonder if out of the ’54 languages’, will there be at least one (of the ancient) language’s selected out of the 60+ distinctively different Aboriginal languages spoken in the Northern Territory – and/or any other Australia Indigenous spoken languages from around the country, including the Torres Strait islands?
