Unis must sell innovation as a positive for everyone: minister

It’s all good to say we need innovation, but without proper funding this can’t happen. We have high school students entering into 1’st year courses who are telling us that they have better equipment in their high schools. Universities used to be held in high regard for their willingness to explore new technologies, but now all we’re doing is begging to just the basic gear that will only just suffice for basic teaching. There are so many dedicated academics and technical staff that want to push the boundaries and limits but in reality we’re only just keeping our heads above water.
