Sometimes we get only 10% turnout at a lecture….not sure why lecturers bother to turn up at a given time if they have important research/grant application deadlines to meet etc….
I suspect you may have some selection bias in your survey results. We consistently get less than 30% attendance at recorded lectures (very close to 100% in unrecorded lectures). If only 20% of students are substituting recordings for attendance, then what are the other 50% doing?
