Extreme rainfall, floods due to warming: study
Using more than 8000 weather stations around the world and data going back to 1900, researchers have found a link between global warming and an increase in extreme rainfall. By Aileen Macalintal.

This highlights the need for more proactive adaptation. Although mitigation may help prevent dragging us more towards disastrous climate change, taking action to mitigate consequences of changes already occurring is a must. The other important message here is that in studying climate impacts important insights come from analyses using the variability in data sets not just the mean.
