Call to boycott ‘killer’ robots

Monash University philosopher Dr Robert Sparrow says military organisations are funding a significant amount of robotics research that is making war more likely by lowering the threshold of conflict.

  1. I totally agree that military robots do lower the threshold of war . Lower casualties for the nation that goes into war with military robots lower the opposition of its citizens and in-sensitizes its citizens toward the consequence of war. But war fought using military robots still causes lives – in this case the lives of the weaker state who does not have the same sophistication in warfare technology.
    How can we stop the trend – this is going to be tough as pointed out by Sparrow in the concluding paragraph!
