Jobs on the line at ANU

The Australian National University is the latest institution to flag the possibility of staff cuts, with vice-chancellor Ian Young announcing it needs to save $40 million dollars to remain financially healthy. But the National Tertiary Education Union says the suggested cuts will only damage the university’s standards and reputation, and that responsibility for its funding lay ultimately with the federal government.
