Scientists need to find new ways of communicating with the public and tackling ingrained beliefs if they want their work to impact on the world we live in, a senior American scientist says. Nina Fedoroff, president of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, was in Canberra last week for Science Meets Policy Makers, a conference examining the interaction of sicence and policy formation.
