A stellar international academic career was not enough to convince the Australian science and medical community of the worth of now prominent brain surgeon Charlie Teo. Teo, whose Australia Day 2012 address was reported widely for his concern about a growing rage in Australian society and an appeal to stem racism, also spent time reflecting on his own career in medicine.
