AHEIA appoints Andrews

The Australian Higher Education Industrial Association (AHEIA) has appointed Stuart Andrews as its new executive director, replacing Ian Argall. AHEIA president and Curtin University vice-chancellor Jeanette Hacket said that she was delighted to be able to announce the appointment. “Stuart is in fact re-joining AHEIA, where he was previously employed as the organisation’s legal and industrial officer prior to taking up his current role as University of Tasmania human resources director in 1993.” As well as having formal legal and arbitration/mediation qualifications, Andrews is held in high regard across the sector for his higher education industrial relations knowledge and expertise, she said. Andrews takes up the Melbourne-based appointment in mid-May.
