Sydney Institute appoints new CEO

Sydney Institute has appointed David Riordan as its institute director. Riordan has over 26 years experience working in the VET, higher education, schools and corporate sectors. After managing, on behalf of TAFE NSW, the project to train the workforce of the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Sydney in 2000, Riordan moved to Europe to pursue his career managing large projects. On his return he was appointed as CEO of DET International, where he was responsible for international students, international projects for TAFE NSW and NSW government schools. In 2009, he chaired the NSW Ministerial Taskforce on International Education and has been appointed to the Premier’s Council on International Education.
