Karmel’s term extended at NCVER

Dr Tom Karmel’s contract as managing director of the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) has extended for another three years. Karmel was originally appointed to the position in 2002. Prior to this he held senior positions in the federal government in the areas of education, employment, labour market research and the Bureau of Statistics. His research interests have centred on the labour market and the economics of education. He has a doctorate from ANU in the area of economics of education
