New director for Newcastle environment institute

Professor Tim Roberts has been appointed director of the University of Newcastle’s Tom Farrell Institute for the Environment. Roberts is a conjoint professor of biology at the University of Newcastle. Prior to his new appointment, Roberts held appointments including dean of the Singapore campus of the University of Newcastle and dean of research at the Singapore campus of James Cook University. In the 1980s, Roberts developed the interactive science exhibition Supernova in Newcastle which led to the establishment of the Newcastle Regional Museum.
