Celler to head UWS College of Health and Science

Professor Branko Celler has commenced as executive dean of the University of Western Sydney’s College of Health and Science. Celler, a biomedical engineer, has expertise in research, commercialisation and corporate management. Celler spent three years as a post-doctoral fellow at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in the US, and was appointed director of research at the Medicheck Referral Centre on his return. He subsequently returned to UNSW, where he established the Biomedical Systems Laboratory, and was head of the UNSW School of Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications for nine years before resigning to become chair and CEO of start-up company Telemedcare. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers Australia and a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers .
