Leder wins international maths education award

Emeritus Professor Gilah Leder has been honoured by the International Commission on Mathematical Instruction for her outstanding achievements in mathematics education, research and development. The former director of La Trobe University’s Institute of Advanced Study, director of graduate studies and professor in the School of Education was awarded the commission’s prestigious Felix Klein Medal for 2009. Leder’s research embraces gender issues and the interaction between teaching, learning and assessment in relation to mathematics from school to university.
