Changes at the Australian Academy of the Humanities

Australian Academy of the Humanities executive director, Dr John Byron (pictured), who has held the position since August 2003, is to be replaced by Dr Christina Parolin. Byron is to take up an advisory role in the office of Senator Kim Carr, Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science and Research. He will take up his new position in May. Parolin has worked at the academy since May 2008, holding the position of deputy director since April 2009. She gained her PhD in history from ANU. Before undertaking her doctorate, Parolin was employed across various administrative and policy roles in the higher education sector, including positions at the ANU, IDP Education Australia and as national manager education at the Royal Australian Institute of Architects.
