Carroll appointed PVC at CDU

A specialist in quality assurance in the higher education sector is about to join Charles Darwin University. Associate Professor Martin Carroll, who has spent almost four years as consulting director with the Oman Accreditation Council, will take up the position of pro vice-chancellor and director of teaching and learning at CDU in early April. In his role at OAC, Carroll was responsible for redesigning and implementing a national quality management system for the higher education sector comprising more than 60 institutions. While on the Arabian peninsula, he also consulted to other countries, and was the lead consultant in establishing the Universities Quality Assurance International Board in Dubai. Before that, Carroll was an audit director at the Australian Universities Quality Agency. While working in his native New Zealand, he was the quality manager and chief internal auditor at Victoria University of Wellington, where he also lectured on management. He will take up his position at CDU on 6 April.
