PPP goes private

TAFEs are virtually excluded from the federal government’s $2 billion Productivity Places Program (PPP), with 98 per cent of jobseeker enrolments in the flagship vocational training program going to private training providers. The federal education department told Campus Review that while 77,615 jobless people had enrolled in PPP-funded courses as at 30 January, only 1816 of them were studying at TAFE.
