Government and Greens at odds over TAFE pay and casualisation

The NSW government and the Greens are at loggerheads over TAFE teachers’ pay and casualisation rates, with the education union standing somewhere in between. NSW Greens MP and education spokesperson John Kaye says “government cost-cutting is worsening the skills crisis through increased casualisation of TAFE teaching”, teacher salaries are failing to keep pace with inflation or equivalent private sector salaries, and the government “is also pushing to increase overstretched TAFE teachers’ workloads”.
