VET market reform off the boil

Market reforms to the vocational education and training system have been put on the backburner following last week’s meeting of the Ministerial Council for Vocational and Technical Education (MCVTE). And in yet another sign of an impending marriage of higher education and VET, MCVTE’s role is likely to be expanded beyond vocational training to encompass the whole post-school education spectrum, along with employment.
