Casual staff and academic freedom

The growing use of contract and casual staff in higher education globally raises public interest issues, and a crucial one is academic freedom, says an international education expert. David Robinson, the associate executive director of the Canadian Association of University Teachers (CAUT) says if you are employed on a contract basis you really do not have academic freedom.
