University of Canberra underpaid 1,400 staff $1.5m over six years

When he started the job in February, Mr Shorten said there is “no excuse” for lost wages in modern universities

The University of Canberra will review casual academic staff payslips after it found professional employees have been underpaid over $1.5 million over six years.

  1. I’m guessing (without any evidence) that within the typical university management the discovery that they had accidentally *overpaid* casual staff would be considered much more of a disaster than discovering that they’d accidentally underpaid casual staff.
