Universities oppose $430k cap on vice-chancellor salaries

University submissions to the inquiry into independent senator Jacqui Lambie's There for Education, Not Profit Bill have opposed the legislation, which proposes limiting vice-chancellor salaries to $430,000.

  1. A shame this has been rejected. However to bring Australia in line with the UK, salary caps of c$800,000 would be appropriate [that comes with a free house, etc. as well, at least where I have taught in the UK].
