  1. Completely agree that living costs on HECS is a viable option! If it’s possible for students who want to go on exchange to get thousands of dollars added to their HECS debt just to be able to travel abroad, surely we can justify helping students afford to study. With student poverty rates as high as Universities Australia say they are, talks of raising fees is only going to act as a disincentive to going to university.
