USC selects pro vice-chancellor

Bernard Lillis has been appointed pro vice-chancellor, corporate services, for the University of the Sunshine Coast, following the retirement of Peter Sullivan. He is responsible for the areas of finance, facilities, human resources and information technology. Recently he was the chief operating officer at the University of Southern Queensland and executive director finance and administration/chief financial officer at the University of Tasmania. Lillis said he was looking forward to bringing the university and industry expertise he’s earned in finance roles with engineering firms, brewers and rubber manufacturers to USC at such an exciting stage of its development. He added that he aimed to continue Sullivan’s work building a robust division and successful initiatives in the management of risk, resources and budgets. “I’ve performed this role with a variety of titles at five universities over the last 20 years and I am impressed by USC’s shared sense of mission and its morale, camaraderie and pride in what has been achieved in a short period,” Lillis said.
