Charles Sturt University appoints new executive director of the division of Information Technology

Brendan McHugh has joined Charles Sturt University as the new executive director of the division of Information Technology. As an IT professional with extensive experience in the commercial and financial sectors here and abroad, McHugh will head the division that manages $28 million in funds annually and oversees 7500 email accounts, 4800 phones, 1200 computer laboratory and public access computers, while juggling 3000 video conference room bookings each month. Prior to his appointment, McHugh was general manager IT with the Liquor Marketing Group in Sydnet. He has also been Rebel Group’s CIO and has held managerial roles with the Westpac Group, Corporate Express and David Jones. He has also worked in Canada, Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom. Notably, he is a member of the British Computer Society and a Chartered Information Technology Professional. During his postgraduate degree in IT at Salford University in the UK, he won a top student award. His induction was conducted in the first week of July.
