Monash appoints law dean

Monash University has appointed renowned researcher and legal consultant Professor Bryan Horrigan as the new dean of the faculty of law. Horrigan currently holds the Louis Waller chair of law within the faculty and is also the associate dean (research). He is a long-standing law firm consultant in business and governmental areas of law and practice, with broad academic expertise and professional experience in public and corporate law and governance. Horrigan was also recently appointed by the federal government to an expert panel asked to investigate possible reforms to statutory unconscionable conduct and identified behaviours in the franchising industry. Provost and senior vice-president professor Edwina Cornish said the appointment recognised the leading role professor Horrigan had played in developing the faculty’s research profile.
