Jonathan Churchill has been appointed as director of Information Technology & Resources at James Cook University. Currently associate director, technology, at the University of Adelaide, Churchill will take up the JCU position on January 21. Churchill has a BSc (Hons) from Imperial College London, an MSc from the University of Port Elizabeth and an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management. He has been responsible for 150 staff, a $20 million operating budget and a $10 million capital budget at Adelaide. JCU deputy vice-chancellor Dr Stephen Weller said that under Churchill’s leadership ITR at Adelaide University had received numerous service and innovation awards. “Jonathan was responsible for leading the unified portal project, which created a new vision for online service delivery, and integrating service and applications in a new ICT architecture to achieve a new level of customer experience and business benefit.”
